Hotel 't Sonnehuys attaches great importance to your privacy and the protection of your personal data. We process personal data as provided by the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). 

Hotel 't Sonnehuys processes your personal data based on the following: contracts, execution of an agreement, legal obligation (e.g. age verfication) or legitimate concerns.

Booking and stay:
To process your reservations and provide our services, we collect:

  • Name, Address, City  
  • Telephone Number and E-mail address
  • Payment details
  • Date of arrival and departure
  • Date of birth (verification of being 18 or older)
  • Nationality and identity document (legal requirement)
  • Preferences (for example dietary requirements for breakfast)

We only share your personal data with third parties in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in case of an exclusive execution of an agreement. For example:

  • Payment service providers such as iDeal and credit card companies for processing payments 
  • Suppliers of bookingsystems that we use for managing your reservation
  • External service suppliers for providing additional services such as in the case of our collaboration with beach restaurant The Fat Mermaid who provide breakfast. 

We work together with carefully selected and reliable partners who process personal data on behalf of Hotel 't Sonnehuys. These are contractually bound to processing agreements that comply with the GDPR. For example:

  • IT service providers who provide hosting, maintenance or security of our systems
  • E-mail providers for sending our booking confirmations and other communication.

Hotel 't Sonnehuys may be required to share personal data with government agencies or other parties when required by law. For example when the police or other investigative agencies request data in case of a criminal investigation. We do not store your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary for the purposes for which we collected these. The specific retention periods are determined by legal obligations, contractual agreements or as long as necessary for our services. Your booking data is stored for 7 years.

Camera surveillance:
To ensure the safety or our guests and property, we use camera surveillance in the common areas (entryway, corridors, reception area etc). Camera footage is viewed in the event of incidents and stored for a maximum of 7 days, unless necessary for the investigation of incidents, such as police investigation.
